Installation section
WWWBoard allows you to have a bulletin board message posting system on your web page where visitors may post messages, read them, and reply to them. It is fully administerable from the wwwadmin portion which is password protected. This package is a customization for Speedsoft of Matt's Script Archive wwwboard.
You're welcome to get the original sources from Matt's Script Archive, but it is suggested that you use our auto-installer program below. Then feel free to modify the source however you like.
A modification can be made to the source code to allow for different time zones than Speedsoft's MST. Please see the Time Change page for directions on modifying your script. For a ton of other add-ons and options see http://www.getscript.com/wwwboard/ (please note that none of these options are supported by Speedsoft).
There are several files included in the Guestbook package. Below is a brief summary of them:
- wwwboard.txt - Info File.
- wwwboard.pl - The Perl Script.
- wwwboard.html - The actual wwwboard HTML page.
- wwwadmin.html - A link to the wwwadmin script below.
- wwwadmin.pl - The administration program.
- admin.txt - The administration README file.
- faq.html - A short FAQ for visitors.
- data.txt - The message counter file, do not modify.
- passwd.txt - The bulletin board administrator's encoded password file, do not modify.
